CHANEL SS12

So beautiful, elegant, classic and true to Chanel, yet so fresh exciting and innovative whilst being so on trend with the touches of metallic’s, iridescence, sportswear, plastics, aprons and pastels and of course influences from the sea.

The beautiful textured layers and silhouettes are pushing new shapes and styles into a new wave of fashion. I really feel like it has got so experimental, with all these new plastics being used, a real positive for the direction fashion design is going in.

The accessories and details are just the finishing touch that makes this collection so perfect, intricate little bags and pearl detailing down the models backs, and that shoe-with the coral heel! styling perfection.

Also the set is, as always, something out of your wildest dreams, Florence singing out of an open shell, in a vast arena of a minimalist seabed, encircled by a giant shower curtain.

Once again Karl has created a collection of pure beauty and genius.

Does Chanel Rhyme with Nutshell?

Whilst currently flicking through the latest copy of Vogue (Aug '11) which I would like to say is a pretty good issue; featuring an amazing lengthy piece on Christopher Bailey, a pretty smart little trend round up of the season and a cool editorial inspired by bloggers style at fashion week(s), I came across the latest A/W Chanel campaign.

Shot by the one and only Karl Lagerfeld himself and styled by the infamous Carine Roitfeld, this off the wall shoot is so what I love about fashion right now, its fun, it's quirky, it's arty, and it can be whatever, as long as it holds a presence, which I think these images certainly do. Freja Beha Erichsen brings the energy and beauty as always in all the Chanel campaigns. It is easy to see why she is Karl's golden girl, she just has that look that is so new Chanel, still chic and demure with a wild playful edge.

Having recently been taken to the lovely little Aubin Cinema by my wonderful boyfriend to see Sofia Coppola's new film 'Somewhere'; I am now in love with the beautiful Elle Fanning.
I have always loved her sister Dakota,I think they are both such stunning girls and have a wonderful grown up attitude towards their work.

You can see the full interview with Elle from Interview Magazine here.
Definatley check it out because there is also a lovely little video from behind the scenes of the shoot.
The photography here is flawless and Elle looks so chic and elegant but still like a young girl which I think is important as she is only 12.

Elle is very talented and you can see from one of my favourite scenes in the film where she does a full skating routine. Aside from acting she has a passion for ballet and when not filming she trains 5 days a week.
So having already done such high profile fims as 'The Curious Case of Benjamin Button', 'Deja Vu', 'Babel' and 'Reservation Road' she is definatley an actress to watch out for.

CHANEL-O

Beautiful. Here are some of my fav picks from the stunning Spring/Summer 11 collection from Chanel.

Chanel always entice me with their nail colours, everytime they bring out a new one i'm hooked. I am the biggest fan of Particulière and the Black Satin and now with the new Riva colour, they have got me again. Also loving the subtle pinks in the lipsticks, and the amazing metallic eye pallette which was actually used in the SS 11 show. gorgeous colours for Spring.

It was a really great opportunity to see the SS11 accessories up close, there was so much going on and the details were stunning.

 Thought this ring was divine.

These laser cut leather gloves I particularly liked, I thought they were interesting and unusual but still wearable.
