Katie Shillingford's Beautiful Wedding

Katie has been one of my favourite stylists as long as I can remember, I love her vision as well as her own personal style. These pictures by Amy Gwatkin show for me the ultimate fashion wedding, a breathtakingly beautiful Gareth Pugh gown accompanied by soft pink waved hair by Alex Brownsell of Bleach and bold berry lips courtesy of Alex box. Her husband; another Alex, in a simple black suit whilst the bridesmaids wore Craig Lawrence. The rings were designed by Dominic Jones and Katie's evening outfit was a gold dress from best friend and long time colleague, Gareth Pugh's aw collection.

Gareth Pugh S/S 2011 Film with Ruth Hogben

So this is the new installment from the amazing and very talented GARETH PUGH.
Again teaming with Ruth Hogben for this S/S 2011 film I must say its not quite what I was hoping for. I LOVE Gareth Pugh to death and I have loved previous films made with these two collaborating as you can see how the clothes move and it has been crutial for the realisation of the collection, but as for this one; as beautiful as the collection is, I was left feeling hungry for more detail in the clothing, wanting a closer look at the incredible shoes and longing to see the ever amazing styling by Katie Shillinford. I think the video is really interesting but I just need more!

Craig Lawrence Presetation

Welcomed in with a film by Ben Toms, styled by Katie Shillingford, this set the scene for Craig Lawrence’s Presentation in the Portico Rooms at Somerset House.

Spicy Bloody Mary’s and miniature cakes were provided, whilst the models serenely walked around the room posing for any shots. I felt this was a really nice personal way to get to see the clothes as sometimes on the catwalk it’s there and then it’s gone in a flash and you don’t really get a chance to take it all in.

Craig’s stunning knitwear pieces are a joy to look at; shredded and threaded detail that is consistent with all pieces and a glorious subdued colour palette.

His inspiration is drawn from his childhood in Ipswich, where decadence and decay meet amongst Britain's seaside towns.

Gareth Pugh, I Love You.

Gareth Pugh presents us with another stunning collection this Autumn/Winter in Paris.
One of my absolute favourite designers, I love the way he uses fabric, and his palette of blacks and greys is always amazing.

The mens and womenswear glide effortlessly together and the mens skirts are gorgeous and chic. The leather panels are fascinating as is his slashing details.

His show styled (of course by the great Katie Shillingford) was ultimate perfection, from the leather gloves to the blackened, charcoaled models heads and make up and the knee high shiny boots tying the whole look together.

A Balletic Performance...

" A BALLETIC PERFORMANCE…"

PHOTOGRAPHED BY BEN TOMS
STYLED BY KATIE SHILLINGFORD
MAKEUP BY ALEX BOX
HAIR BY GARETH VAN CUYLENBURG
MODEL: RANYA MORDANOVA

Katie Shillingford is one of my all time favourite stylists, she is everything I hope to be as a stylist myself and I hope one day I could work for her,
In this recent editorial from Dazed and Confused I love how she has used (as it says) Springs raw edges and powdery textures, I think the way the colour has been used is exquisite, I feel a real Edward Scissorhands vibe as if Ranya was the child between Edward and Kim.

My favourite details of the shoot are mainly the layering and mixes of textures like the leather and badages , loose knit from Gareth Pugh, sheer pink pieces paired with the amazing Burberry trousers and the tiny hint of a latex t-shirt by Topshop Unique with a Gaultier trench,a rose Lanvin dress and paper Margiela trousers.
A perfect Burton-esque creepy romance story. I love it.
