Top Five East London Coffee Hangouts ~ #3 "The Creative" St Ali

MY GOD the coffee in here is good. well, they do have the advantage of roasting and grinding their coffee beans in house with a big fancy monster machine! This is the smoothest coffee ever and still a strong distinct taste, I opted for the cappuccino and Charlie the classic latte, which was the creamiest and smoothest I think I have ever tried, my cappu was perfect though a soft balance of strong coffee with the perfect amount of dense froth

The food in here looks delish too, not just the yummy food on show but a delightful menu that has me coming back for more (the breakfasts look pretty wowzer!) someone next to us on the sharing table ordered scrambled eggs and it looked like heaven.

ST. ALi has a wonderful atmosphere, with a big square central coffee bar for the master barristas to work their magic in a cup, and for the customers to sit where they please, a long sharing table, (which we chose)-a big rustic wooden beauty, a few little tables for two and the upstairs is set up more for people wanting to eat, but just as lovely.

An interesting feature was the greenery wall, with the huge coffee monster situated at the back of the cafe, the two walls either side of it had one giant painting, with a face watching over it and a big red F.U(you see what I mean by the picture) and opposite, a wall full of plants, very interesting and creative.

It was also really interesting to see the coffee beans in the bucket in their raw state, it had never occurred to me that it's the roasting of them that turns them that lovely dark brown colour.

The staff were super friendly and were very attentive, this was a great place to just enjoy coffee, do a bit of work, have a chill and a chat. Will definitely be going back for more very soon.

Thanks Charlie for accompanying me and taking my pic :)
