A Desire To Praise

The last from Paris, Cimetière de Passy-
Apparently the only cemetery in Paris with a heated waiting room... good to know that you'll be well taken care of before you enter the afterlife.

O spirit bountifully kind,
Warm, possess, and fill my mind,
Disperse my sins with light divine
And raise the flames of love with thine,
Before thy pleasures rightly priz'd
Let wealth and honour be despis'd,
And let the Father's glory be
More dear itself than life to me.
-Thomas Parnell

The fashion Dad and I came across this beautiful cemetery whilst cycling around the area of Passy, we agreed to come back early morning as my proposed attire was an A/W concoction, (not such a great idea in 38 degree sweltering daytime death heat), so without the sun at a warm but comfortable temperature of around 20 degrees we started taking the shots, the sun slowly rose over the creepy tombs and my makeup started to slowly melt, just the thought of having my top button done up was enough to want to take shelter inside one of the mausoleums! I really feel for models who do campaigns every season spring/summer in the freezing months and autumn/winter in the ridiculously hot months.

Aside from the temperature complaint (god Paris, sort your freaking air con out) the cemetery was a really beautiful sight to behold, especially with the Eiffel Tower just casually hanging out in the background, definitely a great spot to visit if you happened to be in the area- plus there is a fantastique fish restaurant just down the road called La Maree.

Also I realise this post is rather picture heavy, and, quite self-indulgently so. Just wanted to point out that I am aware of this.

KATE

This picture of Mossy in the September issue of Vogue Paris has me spellbound. I think it is just perfect in every single way.

I have completely fallen in love with the Ferragamo dress she is wearing, so naturally started obsessively tracking it down to no avail, but I did however stumble across this juicy little film for the Salvatore Ferragamo AW12 campaign. Kate you are too amazing. Please stop, you're killing me.

From Paris With Love

Welcome to the second instalment of mine and The Fashion Dad's Parisian adventure...

Pour le peit déjeuner- a mini pastry selection in the local patisserie of course, although I still haven't figured out how to order the coffee I want en français.. maybe the French just don't do it right? Pictured is my cappu, heavy on the foam not so heavy on the actual coffee content, hmmmm, think I've developed an acute case of coffee snobbery.

Moving on, the old women in Paris really are effortlessly chic, I don't know if it's beacuase they all smoke, wear white and have perfectly blow-dryed silver bobs that uniforms them into eternal chicness..  all I know is I wanna be that chic.

After sweating most of our bodily fluid out cycling to Le Jardin des Tuileries, (worth the beautiful sight rest assured) we came across a bridge with hundreds of padlocks attached all along with lovers names scribbled on each one, it was one of the most amazing things I have ever seen and so heartwarming that that many people out there love each other.

In Le Jardin I pretty much just dipped my toes into a fountain then had to take shelter in some shade and nap on a chair! The heat was INTENSE.

The downside to everyone being on holiday in August was finding places to eat, but luckily with the help of a local- a lovely irish lady who helped us with our bikes as well as showing us some little gems, we were quite pleased with the delectable fish restaurant we had discovered.

So lobster is officially the best food on the planet. Seriously why i haven't had it before now is beyond me... Dad opted for the very fresh (fins 'n' all) sea bass.
And yes, I am wearing three different outfits in in one post- I did say it was HOT...

Nuit à La Tour

 Ah la nuit.

The Eiffel Tower- or as the locals call it Le Tour, is about a hundred times more beautiful at night, the golden glow is just magnifique, plus every hour on the hour the gold shuts off and it sparkles...

After a miniature fiasco of finding somewhere to eat- can it really be that difficult near the Eiffel Tower? YES and of course it's August- all of the Parisian's are on holiday! So myself and the Fashion Dad decided to go at midnight with a few petit bottles of vino and look up at the spectacle, we ended up seeing the 'finale sparkle' at 1am which afterwards Le Tour reverted back to it's un-lit, bronzed state.

J'adore Paris!
