Jaques Townhouse

So last Tuesday I went along with Charlie (girl a la mode) to the whimsical and wonderfull Jaques event, who have teamed up with Sophie Ellis Bextor to provide a magical summer evening for all.
The Jacques Townhouse is a stylish world inspired by forest fruits and orchards where you can join in the fun and the fantastical or just chill out and relax.

The event featured a frivolous tea party of deliciously decorative cupcakes by Vintage Patisserie, style advice, future gazing with tarot readers and a fabulous tour from the lovely David Carter who designed the Alice in Wonderland-y/Marie Antionette style girly paradise.

We were also lucky enough to get some gorgeous lashes and mavovers from the lovely girls at
Benefit Cosmetics! Everyone looked great in the pictures, pictured is me, Charlie and Steive. You can see them all on facebook here.

You and your friends can sign up here for one of these stylish soires that are being held untill the 6th of August, expect the same frivolus fun but more, with live DJs and free delicious fruity Jaques!

I had a wonderful time so thank you Jaques, and also to the lovely Zarah at Exposure PR.

Photo-Booth Exhibition by Lee Rey-ient

So I took a trip to the Start Gallery (above Start the Bus) for Lee rey-ients debut Photo-Booth exhibition. The space was great and the photos were amazing, for this project Lee had set up a DIY photo-booth and taken four shots of each person, I was lucky enough to feature in the exhibition from when she had taken the shots a year ago.
At the exhibition Lee had another photo-booth set up and all attendants were encoraged to get their four shots done, the outcomes are now available in the shop Top Deck situated beside the gallery.

Boys On Film

I started my collection from visiting the forest at night where I was charmed by the shadows, silhouettes and textures that appear out of the dark. I also looked at the eerie black and white photography of Wynn Bullock, his images referencing a lot of nature but with a sinister mood.
I was also inspired by the creatures of the forest such as fireflies and mythical beasts, centaurs, dryads, nymphs and more recent storybook characters such as Little Red Riding Hood.
The garments are layers of naturally coloured, entangled fabric as well as sheer fabrics and wools, that have been developed to offer comfort alongside a high visual impact, fulfilling the desire for fantasy coupled with luxury, of looking well dressed and still making a statement that references the dark and twisted side of attire.
The woman who wears them is confident but still captivated and enchanted by her dreams and the things she sees out of the corner of her eye.
As an aspiring stylist I wanted to experiment with my womenswear collection, so I did a menswear shoot using my garments, I felt this was successful showing the versatility of the clothes and pushing the dimensions of style.

My Collection- London Show, Graduate Fashion Week

Getting to go to Graduate Fashion Week was an immense thrill, I was so excited to be picked and seeing as I always wanted to do styling instead of designing, this was really special for me.
I had spent the 3 years previous doing styling projects then in the final year of my degree I decided that I was never going to get the chance to do this again so I needed to make a collection!
It was a tough ride but well worth it and I would like to take the time to thank my tutors and my friends for pulling me through, couldn't have done it without you.
